Looking for Locally owned Businesses
in Colorado Springs?

Colorado Springs knows the power of community!  Just think of how we helped each other during the fires last summer and you’ll know it’s true.

Your community isn’t just your friends and family. It’s also your neighbors, the people you work with, the local shopkeepers and the farmers you meet at the farmers’ market.

You know them. You like them and you trust them. They are your neighbors and their hard work supports our local economy.

That’s why you would rather do business with them than strangers.

Thank you for the beautiful story—it brought many views to my Etsy shop and two sales so far!

Well, that and because they have great products! Local farms sell fresher, cleaner vegetables, local bakeries offer tastier baked goods and independent local professionals offer more personalized service.

If only they were easier to find when you needed them! Without the advertising budget of larger companies, local businesses struggle to make themselves known.

We want to help you help them!

I hope you will sign up for her newsletter, and tell your friends
about it.”

  1. Hi Bonnie,
I’m so glad I ran into you at the Manitou Holiday Fair! Thanks for writing about us in your blog. I noticed that you do classes. If you would ever like to do a class on beginning beading or wire wrapping or jewelry making, I’d love to teach it for you!

I’m really glad I found your blog too.

    Take care,
    Elena

  2. I co-founded the non-profit “Stomp Out the Silence of Autism & Disabilites Inc” DBA: SOS-AD Inc & Hawkeye Ranch. We want to open assisted living for autism & respite care for special needs. I know Laurie Yakish, she sent my an email about Hungry Chicken Homestead. Look forward about your blogs.

  3. We had an absolutely amazing time at the Urban Spoon meet-up that you organized! Zanthe and I were not only introduced to awesome, local fare, but an equally fun and interesting group of people! Looking forward to reading your blogs and future meet-ups!

    Bravo, Bonnie!

  4. I was at my Dad’s the other day and saw a bottle of Little Chalet dressing on his counter. “Oh,” I said, “I heard they were selling this again. My friend Bonnie wrote about it on The Hungry Chicken Homestead. Where did you pick it up?” Dad said he had attended a seminar at Benet Hill Monastery and they were selling it there. He handed me a flyer that came with it. IT WAS BONNIE’S ARTICLE! You do get around, Bonnie!
